[solved] Upgrade to 1.6 not going too well

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[solved] Upgrade to 1.6 not going too well

Post by Aureli »

Hi,

I just upgraded from 1.5.4 to 1.6.
Followed the intructions in the Docs folder and it all seemed to work well.  The online site still works perfectly and the admin part works all well...

...the only thing missing is the icons for the WYSIWYG part.  If I go to any Pages, just above the Content, I only see a greybox where before were all the icons to edit the text.  And this happens everywhere in the admin part.

I have set the Global Settings/ Front End wysiwyg to TinyMCE just to try and no change at all.
Also tried changing the default template but no luck there either.

This happens in my local copy using Xampp and also the online version.

Any ideas?

All the best.

A.

Have you tried uninstalling the TinyMCE module and reinstalling it?

Before pressing the uninstall/install link for Tiny..... You could try using the "Restore all to default" link in Tiny's advanced tab. If that doesnt work then use the uninstall link in Modules, followed by the install link.

Thanks guys!

Such an obvious solution but nevertheless, I didn't come up with it!!  :)

"restore all to default" didn't work but uninstall/install did the job.

I can relax now and have a look at the new features.

All the best.

Thanks as well, I had the same problem, and the fix worked.  Now the question is: why did broke on upgrade from 1.5.4 to 1.6 ?  Isn't this something that the beta-testers should have tested? :-)

swix,

in fact, this was tested and reported.... ;) It is even stated in the upgrade-notes that are showing at first, when upgrading (point 7 of those notes) ... Didnt you read that? :D

See http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... #msg165500 for the screenshot of that text....

Thanks Ronny, you're 100% right :-)  Well, I started ready the release notes, but since it was looking very similar to the http://blog.cmsmadesimple.org/2009/06/2 ... simple-16/ post, I skipped the end.

Maybe a little info about this mandatory TinyMCE remove+reinstall would have been usefull there (instead of just "TinyMCE improvements"). But ok, next time I'll read *all* the notes :-)

regards, Olivier
