Will cached pages update if I change global content block

If I have a content page with the cache option active and inside that content page I have a global content block or a user module call, and if I change that global content block/module call contents, will the page updates without any problems?

I'm asking this because If I change a content page directly in the database without updating the modified date, the page will not update If I don't clear the cache in the browser. And I think that by changing a global content block I'm not updating the modified date.
