I downloaded the latest version ov cmsms (1.5.4) I have the dutch version of the documentation printed. They're talking about the editor symbols, i just don't have them.
Is there anyone who can help me?

Go into your admin and on your
My Preferences » User Preferences
look if you have the TinyMCE in the first box. If not choose that one and save.
If you have tinyMCE selected go to
Extensions » TinyMCE WYSIWYG
and see if you have the editor window most down with icons. If no icons (just a empty area) you go to Advanced tab on that page and click the "Reset all settings to default" button.
If the editor most down on that page still don't show the icons for the editor
=> try to tick the "Use static config file" and hit the "Save advanced settings" button.

I already looked at the preferences. I can't choose any WYSIWYG.

Ok then the possibilities is much fewer.
You must be sure the TinyMCE is installed correct.
Go to
Extensions » Modules
and see if the module is installed. should look something like:
TinyMCE 2.x.x Installed
Cannot Remove Active Uninstall Change Permissions
If you not have "Installed" etc. its a problem..... You may then try to reinstall the Tiny....
