External template editing and upgrading requests

Although I am getting used to having site templates in the database, I think I'd prefer external templates. It makes editing them a lot easier when developing locally.

Also, I am not sure if anyone else has requested this, but if there was a way of updating to the latest version of CMSMS from within the back-end, it would make life so much easier. I love the way I can download modules straight from the backend. Why not upgrade the core files this way with possibly a backup of the site done before upgrade is installed?
