Module manager error in CMSMS 1.5.3

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Module manager error in CMSMS 1.5.3

Post by bob_basli »

Hi all,

I just did a clean install of CMSMS 1.5.3. After that I copied the dutch languagepack.
Now, when I want to install modules using the module manage I get following error:
Error!

Checksum error. This probably indicates a corrupt file, either when it was uploaded to the repository, or a problem in transit down to your machine.
expected: 9a37bc2f70db9e20d7a48f8014e225e4 and got 0990eabcd54f8eb93e8c3e4ba0315c8b
and the module is not installed.
Getting different checksum expected messages for different modules....

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks,
Arjan

This means that the XML that the ModuleManager is trying to pull is corrupt. Please try DL-ing the XML from the forge, dev.cmsmadesimple.org. Or use the tar.gz file of the module, that you can upload to \modules after unpacking.

tried that too, but getting this error:
Error parsing XML file. Please make sure you are uploading a .xml file and not a .tar.gz or zip file

Then the xml is really wrong. Use the tar.gz instead..

Unzip it, using Winzip or 7ZIP (last one is free), and upload to the \modules folder.

I have exactly the same problem. Does it have solution. Are XML files of every module in repository "wrong"?

Not all modules are wrong in repository. But sometimes a module is getting corrupt during the transfer to the repository, or even during creation...

Also it is not required to have a XML for a module, so it might even not show the latest versions in a XML.....

So a check in the Forge might be a wise thing to check as well...
