[SOLVED] Image problem, 500 via image manager and not showing on site.

Hi guys,

I've searched through old posts without much luck.

I'm running version 1.5.3. I have uploaded some images via the image manager, and these are placed in the default location, i.e. /uploads/images/. When I access the Image manager, I notice that (despite the image upload succeeding) no thumbnail image is displayed there and clicking on the image link displays a 500 Internal Server Error.

If I try to access the file directly, via http://www.site.com/uploads/images/image.jpg I get the same error. Both 'uploads' and 'images' directories have permissions set to 777.

When I FTP into my server, both image and thumbnail are there.

Any ideas?

EDIT: My apologies, if i'd only persevered for 2 minutes longer. My .htaccess file was killing it. Removed the file, all works fine.

Hi

I'm having the same problem, but I'm sure the .htaccess is there for a reason.  Just removing it, doesn't sound like the right solution to me.  Perhaps somebody else can chime in?
