How to install a background colour on my website

Hi

I would to know how do I change the colour background of my website from all white to my chosen colours of choice?
I have never had a website or used a CMS before. I have conducted a complete word search on your forum as well as CMS with trying to find help on changing website backgrounds, with a 'how to guides'. I do not understand html or computer langauge such as codes.

I hope you can help me

You need to understand basic HTML and CSS first.  I would suggest that you start here:
