Not able to view pages in browser

Post by Kami »

Hello there !

Sorry to ask a "newbie question" but this one is driving me nuts.

I have noticed that I can only view a page in my browser if I make active through the CMSMS admin console

(i.e: content->pages and double click under the column  titled "Default" for the chosen page).

Furthermore, once I have the page shown in the browser and  I click on a link to an existing internal page, i always end up on the

" Error 404 - page not available, etc ... "

Did I install something wrongly ? Do I have to modify a parameter ?

(I have the version 1.4.3 Arecibo CMSMS installed - it works fine otherwise)

Thanks very much for your help & time,

Kami

Hello Simon and thanks for your answer.

Let me make sure I express myself clearly:

All my pages are checked under the column "Active" in the Admin console.

The problem is that unless I double click on the page I want to look at in the column "Default" (hence

making that specific page the default or index page of my site) , I cannot view any of my pages.

Thanks for your suggestions and help,

Kami

Can you give us more information on the settings for your site, version, etc.

Are you using internal pretty urls, pretty urls, mod_rewrite etc?

You can also try turning on Debug mode in config.php to see if it shows any errors. You can also take a look in the server logs to see if it reports anything. It might tell you the page it's trying to open and you can compare it to the url of the page it should open.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.
