Upgrading from CMS 1.0.4 to 1.5.4

Hi

I have a couple of sites that were created on CMS 1.0.4 version. I am planning to move it to the latest 1.5.4 version. It need not have any multilingual support.

Do I have to install a fresh CMS site and then manually port the template, pages, blogs, news etc to this site?
Or
Is there a better solution?

Applying all the patches doesn’t seem to work.

Please suggest.

Did you just try uploading the full 1.5.4 installation and running install/upgrade.php?  It might require some changes afterwards to layouts, modules used, etc., but the database should upgrade successfully.

Back up, back up and back up.
Try the upgrade on a fake copy.
Beware old uncompatible modules.
Try a restore from backup also.

When you fell confortable with all of this, enjoy the latest official stable release.
