Backing up Automatically

I created a site for a client and I noticed in other threads there is no core or module based automated backup utility.  There are several suggestions from people regarding cron jobs and other detailed ways to backup which are beyond the scope of what I plan on doing, not to mention once I hand this back to my client they couldn't do it. Point is it needs to be automated & happen without intervention in the event of a problem.

What solutions do I have?  What if anything is in the works?

Ideally I would like to see something automatic like the Backup plugin I use on Wordpress sites.  Install, set parameters, forget about it until the unthinkable happens & then you're covered.

Did you check your Hosts CPanel, some Hosts offer this already in their package?
