automatically rezise images on upload

Anyone with thoughts about this?

for albums/galleries i'm using Picasa Webalbums now, so for a large ammount of pictures the resize issue is solved. But when my users upload one picture, i'd like that it will resize in multiple sizes (thumb, normal (600px), large (full pic) by example).

Hope someone has ideas for this!

This would be a bad solution, imagine 20 users uploading images with size of 4MB or whats the standard file size when copied from Digital camera. I think in this situation your server would become very very slow.

I mostly recomend to my Customers/Endusers to use a Free software called PixResizer, it resizes one or multiple images to the size you want.
