As I am a newbie to cmsms, how can i start with??? and how can i start with template integration and iwhat role does smarty play here???

Can anone help me out.....Plzzzz

Welcome. You could start by either playing with the demo: http://opensourcecms.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=452 or installing and using it.

CMSMS is smarty based.
