[Solved] Prob with some modules on one specific server

Post by elliot »

Hello

Having successfully used both CGCalendar and CGGoogleMaps a few times I cant get either to work when deployed on one particular webserver. All other features of the admin including all other installed modules work fine but selecting either of these modules in the menu causes:
• Firefox tries to download the file 'moduleinterface.php'
• IE7 gives 'cannot display the webpage' screen
• Safari gives long error message

Please help! If I cant deploy CMSMS with calendar/maps etc on this server Im in deep s**t! :'(

ps. I tried this on the modules forum without success - getting desperate!!!

Do both modules cause the problem, or only one of them?
Have you tried the older Calendar or a different googlemap module?
Any clues in your error logs?

Hello

No clues in the admin log. It seems like all the CG modules are doing the same thing - ive tried Maps, Feedmaker and Calendar, selecting Calguys Module Extensions in the extensions menu also has the same effect (opens a blank page in firefox for PC by the way).

In answer to your question, the older calendar module works fine as does the other google maps module. My main issue is the calendar to be honest, I need it to be future proof and it looks like CGCalendar will be the one to use going forward. If thers any more info I provide please ask. And thanks by the way.

Just for completeness. Ive tried installing these modules on anolder installation of CMSMS at a different domain but on the same webserver with the same issue. I have used them on other sites on different servers with no probs - so I dont think im doing anything wrong.

Have you tried increasing your php memory limit in the config.php file? Perhaps try 64M.

Ive tried that without success, not sure whether the server is overiding the config file though.

Could it be to do with this error? Everything else seems ok and it installed alright??

It looks like your root url should be:

http://vi-colo-1842-ign.colo.vi.net/~admin49/pmm

and your uploads url should be:

http://vi-colo-1842-ign.colo.vi.net/~ad ... mm/uploads

First off- thanks for your help. Ive fixed the paths (see re upped graphic) but it hasnt fixed the problem with the modules.

I tried googling "child pid exit signal segmentation fault" and there was a lot of results as you would probably expect. The top result referred to a module for a Mambo CMS site. They seem to have an identical error, so you might be on to something by getting me to check the server error log. Further googling has led me to PHP bug forums which are well beyond my understanding - has anyone any ideas?

ps. that google result page http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum88/10314.htm

I would contact your host, as it appears that this is an apache/php/mysql problem. A configuration issue, perhaps.

I'm one of the engineers of the company that hosts this server. I thought I'd post the resolution to this, it appears all the CG modules when zend.ze1_compatibility_mode is set to On in php.ini generate a segfault.
