Newsletter Signup During Self Registration

Hi everyone,

I've been having a look through some old forum posts and the documentation for the various modules but I can't seem to find myself a solution to the following..

Using the self registration module, I would like to offer new users the ability to check a box to sign up to a newsletter (using newsletter made simple).. Simple as that!

I know this must be possible but I just can't seem to get my head round it!  Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Yeah, im been trying to play around with this but i just can get my head around it - unless i do a two part form, but there must be an easier way to do it.

Maybe it should be a request put forward to the FEU module creator.

Has anyone had any experience in doing this?

I'm thinking it could be along the lines of a UDT that manually adds the details to the newsletter users table.  This could then be attached to the self registration "onNewUser" event.

Does this sound like an idea to pursue or has anyone out there got a better method?
