New site, feedback appreciated!

Post by baconburgare »

Hi everyone!

Here's my latest experiment: http://www.labradoodles.nu

Site content is in Swedish I'm afraid, but you will probably find your way around. The frame-pictures are a bit bad quality (shadows) but I will make those better when we're more settled on colors and such, at least you get the main idea.

I'm considering removing the Paw-picture in bottom, maybe just a line or some color or something.

Site should comply to W3C and works fine in IE and Firefox, haven't tested any other browsers.

Please don't be to hard on me. I'm a programmer, not a website layout guru :)

Thank you in advance!

Very nice work!

It`s a beautiful layout/design. I think that the paw picture in the footer gives a nice touch to the site, so I wouldn`t change it.

Site works very good with Opera browser.

Du har fortjent en stor baconburger for innsatsen :)

Ty guys!  :o

If you mean the "menu", yea I agree it could need some improvement. Not quite sure what to do, I hate buttons. Someday an idea will popup :)

Btw, the dog just got 8 puppies the other day, 4 brown and 4 black ones (http://labradoodles.nu/index.php/gallery/G7), really cool.

Btw, CMSMS 5.1.2. No additional tags or modules used, oh yes one; random_image. The quote boxes are my own, as the simple gallery (very basic so far).

Cheers!

Hi,

I can't find any menu-styling in your main menu. Your links are without any styling, so the most browser will display your links in blue. Why don't you add some :link, :hover, :active  and :visited to your links and menu? Note, that you have a a.menuactive and a.menuparent. It's important for the usability.
Here some ideas: http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/
What is this for:     ?
I also noted, that the div#menuwrapper is without any styling, so you can remove it.
About your gallery. Why did you not use "Album"?

Ty for comments Neo!

I haven't spent any time with menulinks as I havent decide what looks I wanted, so it's very "trashy". The Tab-l and r seem to be some rest from the menu-template I edited. Well spotted, I'll remove it. And the menuwrapper.

Oh and ty for hinting about the "Album"-module! I'm testing it now somewhere else and it seems to be awesome!

nice site

the photo pages are really cute, but i would use litebox or floatbox to see the the full size photos instead of opening a new page.
anyway thats my opinion

congrats

Kind regards
