{entry->link} on news detail page

Simple question I'm sure.

CMSMS version 1.5.2
News version 2.9.2

I am using the News module as a blog. I am trying to create a permalink. How do I get the {entry->link} parameter passed to the detail template? I know I could just use a UDT getting the current URL, but that doesn't work if someone finds the News article in a search.

I dont quite get the issue...

In the default template of news-summary, the link leads to the detail-template... Isnt that what you can use?

If you use a sitemap.xml then that would solve the search issue, then you can just use the udt to get the URL... This works great.
