trying to install, database connection errors.

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

trying to install, database connection errors.

Post by nicolemcgrgr50 »

Hello all.

I know the problem I have is a mysql connection issue, but nothing I'v tried has worked.  When I go to the CMS start page, I get the following.

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user: 'cms@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /srv/www/htdocs/cms/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 343
Not Found

The requested URL was not found on this server.

There IS a CMS database a cms user.  I followed the install directioins (a couple of times).  Can you see what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Did you specify the correct db-password in the connection step of the installation. There is the question of the backend-user, that is when you specify to login/pw for CMSMS. In the connection to the DB, you have to specify the existing DB-credentials to access the created DB....

To make sure you have used the right userid/password combination, use a tool like phpMyAdmin or the mysql command-line tools to login with the same combination. Also make sure you have the database server name (looks like it may be localhost) and the database name set correctly during your config process.

@nicolemcgrgr50 : see the WasteLand. No CMSms version, no installation procedure described, no context information, no way to reproduce => no way to help you.
