[SOLVED] Bytehost Free Hosting

I've been using Byethost to host a CMS site for two years with no problems.  In December I upgraded to version 1.5.1 and opened a new account with Byethost and everything worked perfectly.

Today the site won't load and I get the error: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare readfile() in /home/vol2/byethost14.com/b14_2874407/htdocs/lib/misc.functions.php on line 1139

The line of code creating the problem is : function readfile($filename)

The PHP info file indicates that "readfile" has been added to the list of disable_functions.

Assuming I cannot get Byethost to changes this or CMS to change their code, what version of CMS would I need to role back to where Readfile is not used?  (I note that version 1.1.4.1 does not have this problem).

Hello,

I think it is not reliable to depend on free hosting. You are experiencing it. "Vous en avez pour votre argent".
A selected (not free) hosting provider provides a working, undisabled hosting space.

Running old, buggy, unsecure, unsupported versions isn't an option.

Thank you for your reply.  Byethost have experienced a prolonged DDOS attack and they locked down all their server permissions.  Everything is back up and running.  You are quire right, you get what you pay for and if the site is successfull I will move to paid hosting, meanwhile I will continue to use the latest versions of CMS.  Regards,
