(SOLVED) Upload using SFTP problems

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

(SOLVED) Upload using SFTP problems

Post by berrek »

Thank you for your response and advice.....I did check out the forum rules and will be more considerate next post.
By the way I did fix the problem by making my root Directory for my domain name public_html.
Thank you.

Here are my questions and issues:

1. The instructions to upload CMSMS to server using FTP say to have your root dir be called public_html....does this mean I need to put all files directly into this dir? Should this be inside my root dir? I don't understand why and how to do this.

2. after uploading to sever and complete setup process, I cannot log in to admin....I am using correct name and password.

3. After uploading to server and completing setup process, cannot access front end of site.

I am very new to web design so I know I am probably doing something wrong.....if anyone can help I would totally appreciate it.

Thanks

Hello,

beware if you are that new to the web that CMSms targets people who know hosting, transfering, configuring, databases, logs, etc.
BTW, please see forum rules (CMSms version, context, etc).

If you have completed the setup process :
-have you seen a warning ? was everything green ?
-what do you see in your logs when you trigger the errors ?
