Can't upload admin theme

Hi all,
I've been trying for a couple of weeks now, and I can't upload an admin theme, I get an error each time.
The zip file I'm uploading is 3.7mb as it contains a number of the working files for reference. Is this too big?

The error i'm getting is this:

Error!

Could not write: OxygenFire.zip -> /var/www/cmsmadesimple.org/themes/uploads/themes-admin/OxygenFire.zip Access Denied. Please check your permissions.

I have more variations in the pipeline to go with it but I need to get past this hurdle first.
