Make sure process_whole_template is set to false in the config.php file.

Now It works in 1.4.1 Spring Garden.

In your blog, you`re addressing this: "I wanted the header at the top of my page output to display the news article title, and the blog entry title when I was reading a blog entry or news article."

I also wanted this and I followed the "receipe" from you blog, but still the header from the last selected menu-option remains on top of the news-article. I run latest version (1.5.2).
