Where is my TinyMCE icons??

Talk about writing modules and plugins for CMS Made Simple, or about specific core functionality. This board is for PHP programmers that are contributing to CMSMS not for site developers

Hi,

I have no TinyMCE icons either.  I am not sure when it happened, it might have been a problem from the beginning.  I was installing a new CMSMS and working on layout and stylesheets, and using the default sample content.  Now that I am ready to enter some content, I have no TinyMCE, only the checkbox to "use wysiwyg".  Checking or unchecking the box does nothing.

I am using CMSMS 1.2.1 and I also am using PHP suexec.  I am not sure module install/uninstall is the problem.  I am also using the "CSS menu top and two columns" layout for the first time.  Everything else seems to work that I have tried, including the xinha editor which I installed successfully, but which is not as nice for me as Tiny MCE.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled TinyMCE, and that did nothing.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks,
Steve

In debugging this problem so far I have learned:
.  it is not related to PHP Suexec
.  it is not related to the template I select.

I did have one crash while updating the bad site - everything froze.  I suspect something in the database might be damaged, but I don't know quite where to look.  I think I will have to create a new site and migrate the templates and stylesheets.

Make sure it's not just the now notorious permissions error:

I forget how I got around this problem.  I know I never solved it.  But if you are using IE try using Firefox or Google's Chrome.  Hope it helps.

Have this problem with HostGator also.  But it is not consistent.

Have tried the 555/775 solution for modules and TinyMCE dirs.  No luck.

The 1.6.5 and 1.6.6 release notes say that you need to:
  • Uninstall TinyMCE (but don't remove it)
  • Reinstall it, and put your settings back
  • Make sure TinyMCE folder is not world writable (775 or 555 instead of 777)
In 1.6.6 I have no problem with TinyMCE on my XAMPP setup, and my main linux server.  However, on Hostgator shared hosting with Linux and PHP 5.2.9, I've upgraded and done all of the above, but still have the checkbox with no icons problem for textareas in the admin for pages, news, etc.

If I find an answer to this I'll post it here.
