Are you looking images on /uploads/images directory? That's where Image Manager looks. Not to /images directory.

Yeah that's right KO, As I say though there is just nothing in my 'Image Manager' but I'm sure there should be, and when I have ftp my own images to that folder or uploaded images from the 'image manager' its just comes up with the name and size of image, no actual image.

I really need some help with this, but don't know who to ask.

I'm sure its a simple problem, no one else seems to be having trouble with this, so don't know why I am.

When you say "there is just nothing" you mean that there is no thumbnails?

Are you able to upload images with Image Manager? Thumnails, that should be created, are named thumb_imagename.jpg or something starting with thumb_.

What does error log say?
Do you have permission 777 on that directory where you try to upload images with image manager?

Strange case, chipper_001
But you said you can see something like that: "image.jpg 16kb"
That clearly shows that the images are being uploaded to someplace and the problem is when the system tries to create do thumbs. I think that could be a server config problem.
And, when you try to include one image in a content page, even without seeing the thumb, what happens?

Hi KO, when I go to image manager, there is nothing there at all, no images, files or folders nothing.
When I try an upload an image in image manager, I search for my image on my computer and then press send but all that comes up is a square box with the image name and image size, but no actual picture.

I have spent hours an hours trying to find out why but don't understand it

Where can I check for the error log, I don't know how to do it??

Thanks

I merged your two threads. You do not need to create two different threads about the same subject in two different areas.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

Hello all,
firstly I apologise for not fully reading this thread but if you are having trouble with your images not showing up then it might/could be simply down to .htaccess
this is what to do,,,,,
1) check system info and make sure you have correct permissions,
2) next go to http://yourdomain/uploads/images/logo1.gif (allso check with ftp client make sure this image is there) if you get a server error message saying "not found or something" then this message did not come from CMSMS.
3) temporarily rename or move your .htaccess files from /images and /uploads
4) recheck URL http://yourdomain/uploads/images/logo1.gif

if your image now shows up now you just have to learn what to do with your .htaccess files ;)
hope this helps someone ;)
