1.5.1 Internal Preview with unactivated pages not possible

Post by Connie »

Hi!

I tried to preview unactivated pages, logged in als Admin.
I get a error page (wrong content encoding, in german Firefox says: "Fehlerhafte Kodierung der Inhalte")

I think it is necessary to check with preview before activating.

I noticed that the same situation with CMSMS 1.4.1 produces a 404, which also is not satisfying...

what to do?

I need internal preview and I need unactivated pages (for internal information.... )

Inactive pages won't show anywhere, what you need is to set it Show in Menu: unticked, this way it will be viewable but not in menu of front end...

unless someone knows the exact alias or url of a page that is not showing in the menu, then your users are not likely to stumble upon them even if they're active.

I just tested this on a site using 1.4.1 and I was able to see a preview of an unactivated page. Not sure about 1.5.1 though.

EDIT: Just tested with 1.5.1 and I was able to see a preview of an unactivated page which was also set to not show in menu. Perhaps something went wrong during your installation.
