Using Default template: Can I use flash banner?

Hi I have just installed default template on some websites.
I can change the banner to any jpg or gif, but i have one site using a flash banner "itfixingheader1.swf"
I tried to replace that with the logo1.gif that is used by default .
When reloading the page it has removed the default logo but I can not see my new banner. Just a grey area
