Upgrade to 1.5.1 Missing Search Box [SOLVED]

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Upgrade to 1.5.1 Missing Search Box [SOLVED]

Post by TJINAK »

Hello & Thank you for reading!

I have upgraded two sites in the last week and was hoping someone already has solved my missing search box issue.

The two sites I'm trying to correct now are located here:

http://redoubtrealty.com

http://akmensministries.com

I'm going to look at some of the default templates and compare code to see if I could track down the problem but thought maybe one of my fellow admins might have already fixed this issue?

Thank you,

TJ

I just tested several of the default templates and the issue remains.  Tested in both IE and Firefox.

I'm stuck - please help if you can.

Thank you,

I've installed a clean 1.5.1 on my test server and the search box works.

I guess from here I need to troubleshoot the smarty tag as the code is identical between my production template and the clean install template:

Code: Select all

   {* Start Search *}
   <div id="search">
          {search}
   </div>
   {* End Search *}
Not sure how to approach this right now but I'm going to start digging.  Any pointers would be appreciated.

Finally, has anyone done an upgrade that does not remove the search box?

Thank you kindly,

TJ

On second thought should I start with the CSS for the:

Code: Select all

   <div id="search">
???

Okay, I tried everything with the CSS that I could think of - that is not the problem.

Now, I'm going to look into the smart tag.  Not sure how to do this but here I go...

Well my love for this project is just never ending.

The fix was simply uninstall the search module, then install the search module.

Problem resolved!

Thank you for creating such a great system - I rarely have problems with the functionality of cmsms!

Bravo to Ted & The Team!
