Please Help - Site Implosion

Post by upwithit »

Hi,
I've built several sites using CMSMS, all with excellent results, but my most recent site, after a successful launch, has suddenly begun throwing errors.  Nothing had been modified since the initial launch.  This seems to have happened out of nowhere.
The site uses CMS Made Simple 1.5.1.
When you attempt to access the site's home page, you are greeted with the following:

string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:18 line 4]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'sitename' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(103) "Smarty error: [in template:18 line 4]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'title' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:18 line 5]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'metadata' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(108) "Smarty error: [in template:18 line 6]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'stylesheet' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)" string(106) "Smarty error: [in template:18 line 53]: [plugin] unknown tag - 'content' (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)"
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smarty_cms_function_sitename() in /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/49618/domains/wildcoyotegrill.com/html/tmp/templates_c/%%5B^5B7^5B79CCF0%%template%3A18.php on line 8

The actual CMS interface seems to be functioning ok, with one exception.  The Extensions menu features this at the end:
--Add Me - module:TinyMCE string:friendlyname--

Any ideas or suggestions, anyone?  Thanks very much.

Was this upgraded to 1.5.1? If so, try re-uploading the files, minus the tmp and install directories.

Also, clear your cache in Admin.

And you may want/have to FTP to site and remove files from the tmp/templates_c folder except the index.html...

Hi -
This was a first time install, not an upgrade.
I deleted the contents of the templates_c directory (with the exception of index.html), which made the site's templates show up, but none of the content.  I'll try reinstalling.

OK good idea as that kind of error most times just means something didn't make it on the upload...

Weird - it didn't work.  I reuploaded everything successfully, but when I jumped over to /install/upgrade.php, I receive this error on the second screen (along with the upgrade information):

string(117) "Smarty error: [in upgrade1.tpl line 19]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'cycle' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 590)" string(125) "Smarty error: [in upgrade1.tpl line 26]: [plugin] modifier 'date_format' is not implemented (core.load_plugins.php, line 124)"

Here is the screenshot, if it helps:

Try using a different FTP program, like Filezilla.

Hello,

I've read this may happen because of a broken/incomplete ulpoad.
