[solved] Upgrade 1.4.1 -> 1.5.1 resulted in a small admin problem

Hello all,

Some time ago I upgraded one of my websites from 1.4.1 to 1.5.1.
In a way everything went well.
Frontend and backend is working like it should be, but one little thing isn't okay. 
Please watch the enclosed pictures.

The breadcrumbs in the admin area is showing all pages and the menu has the layout like all pages are active.

What did I try until now:

- Deleted 1.5.1 files and database and put back the backup 1.4.1 files and database.
  Made another upgrade to 1.5.1, resulted in the same problem.

- Change admin template NCleanGrey to default, made no difference.

- Checksum 'says' all files are there.

- Searched on the CMSMS-forum, couldn't find a similar problem.

- Deleted cache information

- Asked this question also on the Dutch forum, but luck sofar.

- Made a PHP errorlog, see below for a few lines (there were a lot!!)

- Config.php -> debug -> true, results see below.

- I watched the content of the class.admintheme.inc.php file.
  With my (very) little knowledge of PHP, I didn't see anything out of the ordinairy.

Did you do a checksum as it seems you may be missing some files...

Hey Mark,

Thanks for your quick response.
I already did a checksum, all files were there.

Did another one just now (orig. checksum-file 1.5.1).
Of course the install-files and the sitedown-file aren't there anymore.
Besides them is only the "./modules/TinyMCE/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/inlinepopups/skins/clearlooks2/img/horizontal.gif" not there. Don't think thats the problem.

Several files failed checksum, but they are almost all language files
[edit: Did noticed it before, but when I transfered the files to the webserver the date changed, so I did think thats the reason why the checksum failed... Hope this isn't the course of my problem.]

Hope you can do something whit it.

Your missing, or they are wrong, a couple of files for the admin like /admin/pagedefaults.php...

I copied the files to the webserver.

Tried it on 3 different ways (filezilla, WINscp and with Windows explorer) but no luck... I'm afraid

If I were you, I'd try setting up a subdomain/subdirectory and install a new copy of 1.5.1, with a new db, etc. to see if the problem occurs on it.

Also, I notice that you have an old module feucalendar, which might not be compatible with the latest version of CMSMS. You could try removing it, to see if it's affecting anything.

- Checked the admin folder, all files have the same size but the pagedefaults.php file: Localsize 9167, serversize 8931.
 Watched another website, there is the size the same (8931)

- Deleted the pagedefaults.php file and transfered the new one again, made no difference.

- Made a blank txt file on the server and copied the contents of the pagedefaults.php file into it and renamed it to pagedefaults.php, no luck...

I don't know what to do next. Perhaps I should wait for 1.5.2 and see what happens when I upgrade.
The problem isn't very big, the site is working fine, but the admin looks terrible  ;)

For what Nullig said you can have one DB and more than one install, during the install it ask for the DB prefix at this point you can give it a different one than the original and it will live right along side the other one, it will just make your existing DB a little bigger...

I've made another site on the same server, like Mark said I used the same DB. I will delete the items later on.

Even on the test site the breadcrumbs in the admin area are wrong.
Just like on the real site... The same problem.
I have already used these 1.5.1 files for upgrading another site and I made a new site with them.
No problem there. These files must be OK.

Looks like CMSMS isn't the problem, but some setting on my server...

Checked the site info again.
I've got two yellow '!'
    1. PHP version 4.4.9
    2. register_globals ON
The rest all green.

The big question, what to do now... 
Is there anymore info you need?

I changed in the php.ini file, the register_globals to 'off'.
Sadly also no changes to my admin.

I keep wondering what changed? 
The new install of the site was 1.2.xx
Then a good upgrade to 1.4.1, no problems at all.
And when I upgrade to 1.5.1 the strange admin breadcrumbs.
Like we have tested, even a new install has the same 'error'.

Is there perhaps something changed in the minimal requirements of CMSMS?

I also have problems after the upgrade to 1.5.1
Strangly only on one of the two site I've got with CMS MS. 

The site hosted on xs4all give the same problem in admin as noticed above (below).

Also the news items wouldnot show after upgrading but.... that was solved after changing the words formatpostdate into postdate in the templates. Thanks RonnyK!

Tried another thing just now, made a copy of the public 1.5.1 website and put it on my local machine
And what do you think...? Everything is normal!!!

Looked at the local cmsms systeminfo, everything green. Also the php version.
My local php version has 5.2.5
On the xs4all - webserver 4.4.9

The minimal requirements are php 4.3+ ( http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... quirements )
The php on the webserver might be slightly newer, but I get the feeling that the php version is the course. With my [limited ] knowledge thats the only thing thats different...

I think this little test proves that cmsms isn't the problem here. Will try to contact the service-desk of xs4all.
