{embed} help

Hi, n00b using 0.11.1 Tobago release.

I'm trying to embed another page/site into an existing one, but get nothing.  I've tried the following variations with no success.  Other tags work just fine, so I think I know what I'm doing! 

{embed url="http://www.cnn.com"}
{embed url='http://www.cnn.com'}
{embed url=http://www.cnn.com}

Nothing gets returned in the page.  CNN was just one example, but I've tried others as well.

I tried searching the forum before posting, but don't see any other recent inquiries into the matter.  Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

wishy, I'v enever had any success with the {embed} module either. I haven't looked closely at the output but it shouldn't be that hard to fix. It's only creating an iframe with paramaters.

Maybe it should be fixed or removed entirely? There used to be another plugin called {url} (or similar) that did the same thing. It worked.

The other alternative is just to add the markup to the {content} area yourself. This would probably provide more control over customisation.

You know, I've never looked at the embed plugin before (it was a code submission), nor have I used it.  However, it's sounding like it doesn't work very well and should probably be removedin the next version.  Just taking up space.
