Module for adding video?

Hello

I want to install cmsmadesimple for a friend and he says he wants to add his videos and pictures easily. Is there a module that enables him to add videos to his site?

Hi arya6000,

if your friend is hosting his videos with youtube, you could use the Cached YouTube API Client Plug-in.  http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/files/586

It allows you to request the newest videos from a youtube user and provides the results as smarty data. It's then up to you how you display the videos with smarty (e.g. only the newest five, only titles and links... etc).

At the moment the plug-in is very simple and doesn't allow much configuration except for username, date_format and caching-time. Better handling will follow in the future updates. Thus, it is less suitable for a thing such as a real video gallery - but great for displaying something like a "newest videos" section which is automatically connected to a youtube account.

For pictures, you might want to consider the album module (http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/album). I think it is also possible to configure it to hold a video gallery if your friend wants to host the videos on his own.

Don't forget if he's on shared hosting then he's probably not allowed to stream his own videos; he'll have to link them from somewhere else.
