I have a potential client who needs a website to run a small employment agency and I'm thinking of using CMSMS as the platform. I doubt whether there'll be more than 100 jobs on the database (at least these days). I've looked at the available CMSMS modules but I'm not sure whether anything there will get me started.
The basic requirement will be some tables in the db to hold the job descriptions/categories, a query/search interface and an admin panel to maintain the tables.
Does anyone have any suggestions for suitable modules? I'm not necessarily looking for a complete solution and I would be more than happy to do a bit of coding, so even just a good approximation would do.
Thanks in advance.

For building your own customized catalogue modules: you might want to try this module http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/ctlmodulemaker.

I'm in the middle of setting up a classified ads section on a site, using the News module. You can see the employment ad demo here:

Re: CMSMS for Employment Agency
If you do not need the ability to allow users to register to post ads and only people from your agency will be posting the job listings, you might want to check out the Products module: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/products
It is developed for displaying Product Inventory or for a cart situation, but in a sense your job openings are your "Product Inventory"

If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.
