Problem with uploads module

Hey, I got a problem with the uploads module. It doesn't write the filename into the database,though it loads the file up on the server and then does not show it within the uploads interface. Within the file manager or picture file manager the file is shown and of course physically it is appears on the server. This is a problem because later on the file isn't recognised within my simple viewer and the gallery can't  be updated. Uploads 1.3.1, CMS Made Simple 1.4.1 "Spring Garden"

Strange, if it's a new install try reinstalling (and re-uploading) the Uploads module.
Your webserver error logs they may give more information about what's going wrong.

Hello Dee, I uninstalled uploads and the simple viewer but only scrambled parts of the database. All folders on the server are on 777, really strange. It appeared after I updated my whole installation from a 2,5 year old version 0.9.x? I am sorry, can't remember which one it was, should keep a track record of versions. It is not so dramatic but just inconvenient, I have to enter into phpmyadmin an manually add the picture-filenames into the table.
