I've a problem with audio and pdf files. When I access them directly with absolute url on a browser they work fine, but when I access them through the site (i'm of cmsms 1.4.1) the auido plays in high-speed mode. I tried using both "dewplayer" and "player" but neither seems to work. Same with pdf files, thet show error when I try to open them form within the site.
Any idea what could be causing this problem?

I'm not familiar with the players, but as far as the PDF's go. The only way they would work via direct linking and not work while linking through the site is the fact that your link is bad/incorrect on the site.
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

What is the Sampling Rate on those audio files? I'm not familiar with those players but flash and flash players does not accept all SR. 44.1 kHz, 22 kHz ... should be fine.
