I've noticed CMSMS has lacked a little in the themes department.  Hope we can get some good ones up! :)

I was in the moddle of porting a minimalist theme when my computer went belly up. Fortunately I had backed everything up in preparation for Hurricane Ike here recently.  As soon as my new box arrives (hey, when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping!), and I'm back up and running at full speed, I'll make that one available first, along with porting a couple of business oriented freebie WordPress themes that we have developed.

Lorem Ipsum works ;)  Do a search :)
So I want to invite all of you to anonymize your template, export it via ThemeManager and upload it here[/qutoe]
Can we place links/link in the footer?

Take care.

I was thinking of releasing some PSD templates I designed and perhaps some people could modify or add things (kind of like how and open source projects appear to be--people adding and improving) and anyone could convert them to templates? Anyone interested in this or think it's a great idea? Also, under what Creative Commons license would this kind of thing go under?

Theme site is for finished templates, you can give the psd designs to ppl. and they can convert to templates, license is best if it's just free to use as they want, not so much if it's have to link back to other site/s, or I would have quite a few link backs at this point...

Well free was the idea. I guess what i was think of was for other designers and even developers who wanted to apply this same open source concept to the templates before it is totally finished, sort of like how modules are done for CMSMS. If we collaborated maybe something really nice and complex would come out or perhaps dozens of cool variations. Moreover, beyond the psd people could also take different cracks at designing navs and such and others could possibly Flash the design and it could some how work with CMSMS. I've played with other peoples templates and there was always something that was difficult to modify because they had the original files. So if someone did something to the template (example: modified it with some Flash) perhaps the could share it back or share the psd so the graphics could be modified, hence the reason I thought a license may be necessary to ensure it people keep it free and open.

I have added 2 themes that were designed by Styleshout.com.
Colourise with jQuery
Ablaze

I hope i will get some time to make my own Free Designs for CMSMS but currently i am short on time developing CMSMS Themes for Customers, but i will keep Uploading some OpenSource Themes i find around.

@richart, if you are interested you can send me an example, maybe i can Theme your Designs, just PM me.

A suggestion, noticing the lack of themes, I simply took the Blueprint project and created my specific  blueprint css files and import (copy/paste) them into CMS/MS - I have all the power of blueprint classes like span-24 which makes developing my sites so much easier.  (I really like blueprint and Smarty)

If you want blueprint, just download from google code, grab the blueprint/screen.css file and ie.css files, maybe the print.css file if desired.  You can also put in custom code to only call/execute the ie.css file when visited by abnormal browsers.  You don't need all the overhead blueprint provides, most of that is for generating specific columns and gutters.  Overall I'm ecstatic about how it looks and works.  Just wish it had a vertical alignment option as well as horizontal.

I coded a few layouts up and used them on GetSimple, another CMS. Yet this one's got modules etc so it's great :D.

Anyways, do the templates have to be our very own? Or can we download free themes and modify them to work with CMSMS aslong as we give credit to it's original designer?

I'll get the layout i made up anyway, nothing special just a simple one.

You can put any theme you make that works with CMS Made Simple in theme site, as far as credit it depends on the original author be it you or another person, I would shy away from any that need link backs etc., well I personally wont use them but...

Hi'ya - New here, since three days back. Using a lightweight CMS mostly called sNews, but thought I'd broaden my horizont a tad due to clients needs and so on. Like CMSms a lot so far, am no coder though, so I'm having a bit of a learning curve here ;)

As far as templates go (being swedish) I don't quite get how to upload themes. Ported two, Refresh and Internet Corporation which I tried to upload as XML to the theme section on the site. However, being new to CMSms I haven't tried them out myself as i don't wanna risk my install (selfish, I knoiw) as they're already there, I mean... If I port a theme and have images, css and an index with content... Is it really sufficient to export it as XML ??? And could someone please check if I did ok trying to upload them, so I can continue with such tasks... And eventually make my own to upload. Or possibly host at my own site for hits, hehe... Cheap b'stard that I am ;)

Oh, intoduction perhaps... Canät find the appropriate place for it so here goes:

Patric Ahlqvist, born and bred Swede, working as trafic coordinator (sort of on the ground flight controller for sick people... yea I know ;) ). Two kids, single (Ladies !) and hobbies are to make websites from various open source products out there as it is cheaper for clients and a market for it. I have, as stated, been working with snews (snewscms.com) but want to go wider (will not leave sNews as it is gooood) and be able to develop sites for clients with different needs. CMS Made simple seems like an awsome product and an awsome place. I have high hopes...

But as I am quite stupid, heh, and sometimes don't get what I read, I am in need of assistance...  Like now with the themes questions... Can I keep uploading XML files (and are they working) or should I go zippety ziip the themes ?

Regards and a nice weekend to ya'll - Patric.
