My Two Latest Sites

Post by tomgsd »

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post my latest two CMSMS websites for you to have a look at.

1.  Doncaster Gate Heritage Project - www.doncastergateheritage.org.uk
2.  Markham Hotel & Restaurant - www.markhamhotel.co.uk

There's only really the standard modules used plus search, news and formbuilder (latest versions).

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Doncaster - lovely, nice and clear. Heading into language pedant mode now... Overuse of semi-colons throughout (IMHO). Home page: use of "comprises of" should be simply "comprises". Contact page: need plural of "photograph".

Markham - love it too, you're very talented! Once again, can't improve on design so here's goes again on the copy...

Food times - early starts on the lunch times - 12am? Strictly I believe it's '12 noon' but you can use '12pm' obviously.

On the directions, North, South, East and West should only be capitalised if forming part of a place name or a term, not a description.

Bedrooms - Space at start. Typo: 'detials'.

Markham one is my personal fav, understated, yet clear and elegant.

Thanks for posting, enjoyed having a nose!  :)

nice job with your portfolio sites.  wouldn't mind though seeing a flash preloader built in your action script for your flash content - would help out in the load time of things.  :)

Really nice designs, I have only 2 comments:

1. Use your conditional comments to only load iepngfix for browsers that need it. The page is quite heavy so every little helps.
2. Check the menu alignment in all browsers for the hospital site. In FF3 Mac the "Contact" text is being cut off.
