Hi,
i have a problem with the structure of my site and I need to create subfolders for articles.
for example: http://mysite.com/politics/index.html
How can I create a page alias like this?
I tried putting: "/politics/index" into the alias-field. Well that doesnt work. It just been transformer to "politics-index.html"
So, whats the trick about it? Is is possible at all?
Im really scared at the moment.
thanks for any help,
Marc
A silly question: How do I create a subfolder?
Re: A silly question: How do I create a subfolder?
karc2007,
From within CMSMS this is possible as far I know (besides subdirectories of the uploads directory). Security wise I would however never use subdirectories in the uploads directory besides pictures etc.
Use either the admin screens that the provider gives you to maintain the site (it surely has some type of file manager which allows you to create (sub)directories).
Another method is to use FTP.

Re: A silly question: How do I create a subfolder?
My problem is how do I create a page in that subfolder?
Of course i can create a folder by FTP. But how can I get a page, which is created in the cms into this folder?
Thats my problem. Perhaps im just a bit stupid.
What I have to do, after I created a folder by FTP?
Lets say, i created the folder: /test
Now im creating a new page, called test.html.
I can type test.html in the alias-field, but where can I move it to the /test-folder?
Thanks for any help again.
And sorry, for posting it here. I didn t read the sticky, because I was just shocked a moment, that this couldn´t be possible -. well I think it is, but I just don´t know and can´t imagine how at the moment.

Assume mod_rewrite turned on, hierarchy turned on, then create a parent page, and put your new page underneath (select parent page).karc2007 wrote: My problem is how do I create a page in that subfolder?

For instance; create the politics page, and create a new page with politics are parent.
