[solved] IP address defaults to 'localhost'

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[solved] IP address defaults to 'localhost'

Post by deptforder »

Greetings all... Newbie alert...  ;D

I have just installed CMS Made Simple v1.3.1 on XAMPP for Windows 1.6.7 on WinXP Home. I use Firefox 3 and IE 7 depending on my mood. Everything works perfectly on this PC.

When I try to access from another networked PC, using the IP address, I can get into XAMPP and PHPMyAdmin but when I put my details into here: http://myipaddress/cmsmadesimple/admin/login.php, the IP address reverts to 'localhost', like this: http://localhost/cmsmadesimple/admin/login.php and I get a 'Failed to connect' error. >:(

I hope that's enough info to go on. Can someone please offer down to me the simple fix?  :)

Open your config.php and make sure that the $config['root_url'] reflects the outside ip-address.....

Isn't it sublime when solutions are so simple, and when people are so helpful! Fixed. Thanks Ronny, I owe you a beer.
