[Solved] Andrew Berg's Flash Gallery + CMSMS 1.4.1

Post by CMSMS-Fan »

I have just updated from 1.3.1 to 1.4 to 1.4.1 and the flash gallery fails to display in the web pages.
I have used this module for a couple of sites very successfully but having just upgraded I assume it is a conflict with the upgrade.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I notice that the module has not been updated for a year and a half which may mean it needs some tweaks to comply with the newer versions of CMSMS.

Check in uploads folder for .htaccess file and delete that

Nuno,
There were no errors it just failed to load.  Just a blank space where it should have been.....
Alby,
That is exactly the problem it appears that the restriction in .htaccess, presumably for security, prevents that particular module module from working...
# To deny PHPs

  order deny,allow
  deny from all

Yes, I remember a file php in uploads folder and htaccess deny php file ...

I understand the
  order deny,allow
  deny from all
this restricts access to all but the
does that mean file extensions in the list can or can not access the folder or is it no one can access files of those extentions in the folder....
I guess that is why I am not a developer though... :-X

Hello,

I have the same problem after upgrading from 1.3.1 to 1.4.1. I checked and there is no .htaccess file in uploads. I have tried the suggestions in this post, but still having no luck. The URL is http://jengalandscaping.com if anyone would like to have a look. I sure would appreciate any ideas. I'm fresh out.

Thank you!

Okay. This is kind of weird. I uploaded the .htaccess file to the uploads directory, then deleted it, and it works. Perhaps my FTP program didn't see the .htaccess file for whatever reason. The 2nd time, I accessed through Webshell.

I do thank you for your time, as I really do appreciated any help.  :)

Hi everyone... I also have problems with my ABFlashGallery under CMSMS MLE 1.4.1b "Spring Garden"

Here the page:

http://www.dachstock.biz/en/portfolio/

During the first installation it gave me this error message...

Warning: rmdir(/home/gonzo/public_html/uploads/abfg_sample/) [function.rmdir]: No such file or directory in /home/gonzo/public_html/modules/ABFlashGallery/method.install.php on line 67

I found this excellent thread on the forum (thanks Alby!), deleted the htaccess in the "uploads" and set the permissions to 755 or 777 on the various folder/files, everything seemed to work with the sample gallery...

But when I tried to create a new gallery I mixed up with a folder for the Album module, things went wrong and nothing worked anymore...

I uninstalled the ABFlashgallery and removed all files... Installed again, and repeated the install, but now it won't show the loader or the picts?

If anyone could give me hint on this, I'd be extremely thankfull!

Cheers,

Thomas
