Installation Step 1 Problem (1.4) [solvedish]

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Installation Step 1 Problem (1.4) [solvedish]

Post by trentfred »

I am new to CMS Made Simple so I'm sorry if the answer is obvious. I have searched the forum for an answer and have not found anything that helps this exact situation.

I'm trying to install CMS Made Simple 1.4. My webhost is Byethost.com. The Apache version is 2.2.8. Operating system is linux. PHP ver. 5.2.6. MySQL ver. 5.0.51. I used FileZilla to upload everything.

Alright, I have uploaded everything and set all the permissions, added the config file and everything else up to the installation steps on the site. I went to the index.php and it asked what language I wanted and I clicked submit. It then goes to the installation step one page. The page loads with the boxes with the 123456 and the 1 is different color, but it does not have a table that checks everything to make sure I have all the permissions correct and everything. There is also no continue button.

So that means I can't get past the step 1 screen and can't install it. I really hope I can get a fix for this because I really liked this CMS in the demo that I tried.

Thanks for any help

In filezilla I would open the site in the right and open the cmsmadesimple folder on the left and go thru and make sure they both have all the same folders/files every where...

You haven't tried to use .htaccess or anything yet have you?...

I havent done anything with .htaccess yet. I wasn't sure what to do with that. I didn't know if I needed to make my own .htaccess or which one to use.

so far from looking through there isn't differences, I'll keep looking though

Probably you have a memory problem.
Call installer with:
install/index.php?debug=1

alright I tried that and this time the same page loaded except it now had about 200 of this warning message:

Warning: feof(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/vol1/byethost11.com/b11_2073171/fredesign.isgreat.org/htdocs/lib/test.functions.php on line 764

Also firefox blocked a continually rising number of popups.

This is an error at the system level and not with CMSMS.
You should contact your hosting provider and notify them of this issue.

Actualy I had the same problem with one site on a shared hosting.
After searching the forums I found somewhere mentioned that 1.4 is doing more tests during installation, maybe something to do with safe_mode. Also I could not remove folders - maybe something to do with permissions.

Anyway, my solution was to install 1.3.1 back again.. No problem.

Eddie.
