[solved] Installation problem - Smarty errors on network paths

Hi,

As I haven't solved the installation problem yet, I decided to move discussion from 
http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,19786.15.html and to explain everything again.

I've developed a cmsms site on my friends private hosting, everything worked and had no problems at all.

Now I have to move the site to a local service provider. The clients current provider has php memory limit of 8MB (can't be changed), which caused many troubles with cmsms working (white pages etc). Now I try to test cmsms on another service provider (16MB php memory limit). Also, I got permission from my client to move to this provider if I succeed with installation.

The problem seems different, I think the problem isn't with php memory limit here.
I tried few different cmsms versions, here describing latest try with 1.2.5 (basic installation).

I used FileZilla for uploading content (in a test folder) and setting permissions (as described in installation docs).
Created and uploaded empty config.php, permission set to 666.
I have an empty default database, created by service provider (no tables).

At the first installation check, everything passed except "Checking if sessions are enabled" where I got yellow circle.
I got green "Success!" at step 4.

On the first site opening I got these messages:

Also, latest installation won't let me to log in, the login screen shows normally.
As I can see, there are 51 tables in db.

If someone could point what's wrong here, it would be much appreciated.

When I look at the following line I see two things that seem to be out of place:

\172.21.204.201\webvol1\4d\fz5o71f2u2s9er7\boonshop.co.rs\public_html\test_cms/plugins

- there's an ip address (172.21.204.201) as well as a URL (boonshop.co.rs)
- there's a slash AND a backslash (\test_cms/)

I'm thinking there's a problem with what you set as documentroot or root URL.

Download your config.php file through ftp and look for the following lines

#-------------
#Path Settings
#-------------

#Document root as seen from the webserver.  No slash at the end
#If page is requested with https use https as root url
#e.g. http://blah.com
$config['root_url'] = 'http://www.yoursite.com';
if(isset($_SERVER['HTTPS']) && $_SERVER['HTTPS']=='on')
{
$config['root_url'] = str_replace('http','https',$config['root_url']);
}

#Path to document root. This should be the directory this file is in.
#e.g. /var/www/localhost
$config['root_path'] = '/path to your root/public_html';

in your case the root url should be http://www.boonshop.co.rs/test_cms

and I'm guessing the root path should be: webvol1/4d/fz5o71f2u2s9er7/boonshop.co.rs/public_html/test_cms

You're right, in config.php file the root path is something like this:
\172.21.204.201\webvol1\4d\fz5o71f2u2s9er7\boonshop.co.rs\public_html\test_cms

The root url is like you said i.e. like it should be.

So now I'll try to upload again and do a fresh install.

I am not sure how to check if this is the root path in this case:
webvol1/4d/fz5o71f2u2s9er7/boonshop.co.rs/public_html/test_cms

Run http://xxxxxx/install/ and if you have already DB data, unchecked write tables in DB (in step 4 I think)
This write a new config.php with correct data

No, is a SMB path (samba?)
Your web server access to remote folders in your LAN (172.21.204.201) or access to same server via network (in chroot environment) or ....

It's not wrong but not usually.
Continue with install and check for paths in config.php, in your case is \\ (double) and not \ (single)

Thank you very much Alby, I've doubled '\' in my paths and now the site is working

But, now the problem is I can't login to my admin account...just rejects, without message 'wrong user name or password'.

I found the solution for the admin login here on the forum.

In the file include.php I added:
Session_save_path ('.../tmp')

I've added [solved] in the title last night just after the problem was solved. Also I'm not sure what you mean by 'and add: network path', please explain.. I really want to follow the rules here so someone else could find the solution in this thread.

For search, if you see in title (for example):

I think that if I have a problem on network paths (and not local paths) is more probably I find this
