CMS made simple returns a "not found error"

Post by maniacjeroen »

Hello,

I have been running a site based on CMS made simple for some time now and everything worked like it was supposed to do. But all of a sudden my site gives a "Not found" message when i trie to open the site. It seems that the "index.php" isn't found by the browser while it is still there.

Parts of the website are outside the CMS (a forum and a chatfunction for example) and are working fine.

I searched the fora but could't find an answer that looked like my problem. I tried to replace with a backup and upgrading to the latest version of cms made simple. No luck so far...

As i'm not a big wizzkid with webservers and php (i didn't turn to something that has made simple in it's name for nothing!) so please be patient with me!!

my site:

thanks in advance!

Maybe you should think about not using Front Page to make your site?, with frames?...

What ver. of CMSMS were you using?...

If you had a good backup of the DB you should import it and all the folders/files from that ver. and get it running then upgrade the site...

Thanks for the reply,

I took over this site some time ago when it was build using Frontpage and plain html. It had been like that since 1999 or something. I trie to convert things to a more usefull site by taking on the cms made simple thing. So i know frames and frontpage are outdated but this isn't my fulltime job.... so be patient!!

I made a back up of the database so i will trie and follow your advise! Still i don't understand why cms made simple stopped working. All the needed files are there and the directory can be read.  :(
