Water Mark Images

Another one from me.

dev.neil-harding.co.uk - on the menu pages i want to put a background image that is.... well transparant ish like a watermark but not sure a) how to create the image i.e. make it transparant in photoshop or by using CSS
b) how to apply it to only the two menu pages.
