Broken Menu CSS in firefox and IE

Post by wibby »

Hi everyone,

Running: CMS Made Simple 1.3.1
Site url http://www.rjlewis.co.uk/

I seem to have broken the Menu CSS on a site I have designed

In firefox the menu is ranged to the right and not situated in the sidebar area.

In IE the menu sits in the correct place but shows ramdom white blox when you mouse over a section header.
(http://www.rjlewis.co.uk/index.php?page=projects) rollover home

Could some CSS god take a look at it and tell me how stupid i have been please.. :-[

TIA
Wib

IE6 will take any kind of mess you throw at it and try to make it like it thinks you want it to look...

The grey border you use in the main is setting it off to the right in Firefox as borders are solid objects in it, your best bet is to use an image 250px wide and set it to the left, this will fix the white gap in IE also...

The black table at the bottom is not staying there on a lot of other browsers also, it should be the footer and set to clear both...

Hi Mark, I'm still a bit confused here.

I have been through the site and everything now validates 100%,

I managed to fix the firefox problems amoungst others, but I am still getting the white box problem in IE 7 when I mouse over the horizontal navtigation.

Do you hae any ideas why this is happening?
