Cataloger Thumbnail Load Speed, can they be cached?

Post by AngelEyes »

CMSMS version 1.31
Cataloger version 0.7

I have searched quite a bit for this on the forums but couldn't find anything relevant.

When using cataloger and viewing a catalog page, the thumbnails for catalog items take a little while to load (they sort of step one after the other). Not ages but a second or two which in my mind looks a bit messy as everything else loads instantly. I have noticed this on other peoples sites using cataloger, so assume it is a 'feature' of the cataloger module.

My site will not be updated that often so I wondered if there is a way to cache the thumbnails so they load instantly like the rest of the page content? I know by default Cataloger uses a random uri to avoid caching so wondered if this would be a place to start?

My webhost is a good one and is very fast so I do not think this is an issue.

Many thanks.

I don't know how long you have... but I will need to work on this same issues... in sorts... I'll have to fix my catalog numbering issues first... then i can get to this... but I also am getting no help so it may take a bit...
