Seeking users with persistent TinyMCE problems [UPDATED]

Post by Silmarillion »

[UPDATE]
Thanks to an extremely rapid respons from a user with tiny-problems, one thing has been narrowed down as causing tiny to break. On some systems (suexec-ones it seems) neither tinyconfig.php nor it's parent-dirs must be writable, or tinyconfig.php cannot be read directly. In svn-version of TinyMCE an error is now shown if this is the problem.
I still very much would like to get in touch with people for whom this does not solve the problem!
[/UPDATE]

Hello

Being the maintainer of the TinyMCE-module I'm sorry to hear that some people still simply cannot make it show at all. I have absolutely no idea of the reason, but I'm determined to track down the problem. I am therefore seeking users who
   a. have a working cmsms (1.3+) installation with a non-working TinyMCE editor
OR
  b. had to be very slack with the permissions of the modules-dir to make it work, giving chmod 777 for instance (no it should not require this!)
AND
  c. will be willing to give me both temporary admin-right to the cmsms-installation and ftp-access

I promise I won't touch anything other than TinyMCE and I'll give you a notice when I'm done so you can change the password.

You can PM me here or send me an email at mortenpoulsen @ gmail.com

It would really be a great help! Let's nail these bugs!

Thanks!

Regards
Silmarillion/Morten

Hi Silmarillion,

I'm not sure whether this is a problem as such... well it is but perhaps it's supposed to be this way?...

It appears that the latest version of Tiny doesn't allow direct uploading of images. I've had to instruct my client to upload all images first with the image manager before inserting them on a page which she's finding very frustrating. Why is this function no longer available?

Hi biliousfrog

The old filepicker with File upload was removed as at was one grand hack and very hard to maintain. I wrote a new one from scratch, but due to time limitation I didn't get around to implementing file upload for the cmsm 1.3.0 release. A later update, TinyMCE-module version 2.4.2 adds this functionality. Please install that.

Quick response!

I just popped back to say that I found the tick-box to enable uploads and folder creation in the image loader.

I'll install the latest version when I get time, CMSMS seems to get updated faster than I can install it.
