Wow, this project has gone a long way since I originally found about CMS Made Simple 2-3 years ago. I never really had the courage to try it out until this year, and it really blew my expectations.
I am currently using CMS Made Simple version 1.3.1. I've been using CMS Made Simple since version 1.2.4 officially (I have used a previous version a few years ago but I forget which one because I gave up as I was a complete n00b back then).
I really like what I see and I use it on my company's site as well. For that, I would like to begin sponsoring CMS Made Simple and its development effective IMMEDIATELY.
My goals for sponsorship include a donation of $100-$250 per month (I'll try my best to get up $250 for you guys). I have seen the work efforts of Ted, Mark, calguy, and Pierre, and all of you guys really have outdone yourselves. A job well done on this project - I never want to see this project lose hope.
From 1.x -> 2.x, I would really like my sponsorship effort to focus on backwards compatibility. I'd really like the developers to *try* to put in as much as effort as possible to make both versions backwards compatible, so the upgrade from 1.x series to the 2.x series will be a breeze as any other upgrade, and no data or custom templates would be lost. I am hoping the funds and gifts that I will put into this sponsorship will be enough and be rewarding enough for the developers to continue developing the new versions, and even develop this backwards compatibility for the new versions.
To begin my sponsorship, I'd like CMS Made Simple to put up an owned license of vBulletin, and will help (but doubt you guys need any help) converting/transferring the SMF database to vB.
What do you say?
