[Solved] Installing on localhost - a really dumb question!

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[Solved] Installing on localhost - a really dumb question!

Post by DrMopp »

To my amazement I have installed Apache 2.2.8, PHP 5.2, MySQL 5.0 and Simple CMS and had them all working, i.e. (I could log into the admin panel) on my machine running XP Pro. Overcome with pride at this point I left it alone for several days.  Now, coming back to work on it I cannot remember the url to get into the site (and of course I've cleared my browsing history) - is there any way of finding out or do I need to re-install? - told you it was a dumb question!

DrMopp,

I not at all sure if it helps, but I installed Xampp and for me the url starts with: //localhost/xampp/. If Xampp is started, you will see a button Admin on the right side of the row containing Apache (this is on the Xampp control panel). Use it to get at least a starting point.

Thx for reply, deliberately trying to avoid XAMPP as I won't be able to use it on production host. Had to re-install in the end but all OK now.
