Strange module problem

Post by fatcuban »

Hi all,

I have recently moved my cmsms site to a new server and everything went as planned except my news and tinyMCE modules seem to be AWOL. They show as being installed in the admin panel but the news has dissapeared from the site & none of the admin drop downs show these modules anymore except for when im on the  module list page -  when i select them from here i just get an empty page (no error msg or anything).

When i click on module manager i get this error:

SOAP Problem (http://modules.cmsmadesimple.org/soap.p ... Repository): HTTP Error: Couldn't open socket connection to server http://modules.cmsmadesimple.org/soap.p ... Repository, Error (110): Connection timed out

I have re uploaded the site a couple of times to try and fix any missing/corrupt files but no joy
Anyone had a simular issue? Im fairly new to this system and so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
cyberman

Are you sure your new server allows outgoing soap connections (neede by ModuleManager)?

Thanks for the speedy input, the server peeps said they only allow outbound PING & DNS connections - so i presume thats why module manager isnt connecting! But that wouldnt stop the installed modules form working would it?

OK, i have uninstalled and reinstalled the tinyMCE module and it works again! does anyone know how to do the same with the news? there doesnt seem to be an option to reinstall in the module section of the admin panel.
