FCK Editor

Post by DW »

I read on the forum that the FCK editor is not supported any more, is the project totaly dead? or will there be updates in the future?

right now there is a problem with css styles not loading as they should in the drop down, other than that, the FCKeditor is much better than tinyMCE since the swedish language is working as it should and I also like the menu style better, it feels more professional than tiny. seems that many users want to use FCK as a option to tiny, would be really sad if the project is really dead.. maybe someone wants to open it again?

Then again, the absolute best way to edit, is to be able to surf to the front-end and just click a "edit" button and then the content is opened in a editor on the page so the user can see the final result. but that is just dreaming about the perfect solution :)

The FCK Project is not dead.... we just don't include it with CMS anymore because Tiny (yeah, like it's small) loads a helluva lot faster, and for a few other reasons.  FCK is now a 3rd party addon.

I know sil still does some work on FCK from time to time, you may want to try getting ahold of him.
