Presidential candidate using CMSMS... almost. :-/

Post by vaughnt »

http://www.votemary2008.com/

This is the website for Mary Ruwart, who nearly got the 2008 presidential nomination for the Libertarian party.  The site is a basic install, with only the addition of Form Builder to handle the contact and brochure-request forms. It uses the news module with RSS enabled to supply feeds to supporters. Links go offsite for donations.

Mary was tied or leading until the very end. It was most disappointing that she lost in the final round.

The nomination instead went to Bob Barr, whom I regard to be a faux-libertarian at best, and a flaming asshat at worst. Here is a video of Barr getting punk'd in Borat:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPn4mlFycpI

Anyway, I had hoped to be here announcing a presidential candidate was using CMSMS, but it wasn't to be.  At least I tried.  :)

Hey !! your are not kidding !! I see in the source ! This site uses CMSms today.
I don't know the country, the elections, the political issues and so but I'm pleased CMSms is trusted to make such "big" sites.

May be a reason of some of DOS attacks CMSms users have suffered last week ?

No, I'm not kidding, I built it. And I wouldn't choose any other CMS. We were ready to move it to it's own server in a heartbeat though, and ready to implement caching mechanisms if needed.

I doubt it. It would be much more obvious and effective to attack the server the site resides on, and we had no such problems.

Most of the Small Business sites I work on are in the $5,000-$15,000 range, so this is quite inexpensive.

The page reads "Prices for iSite start at $1895.00" which is a smart way to put it :)
